"Itchin’ on a Photograph"

“Itching on a Photograph” is a body of work created to distort the subject's face. I took 12 portraits of 12 different people and asked each what they did not like and were self conscious about the photo I took. I then drew over these areas in an abracted sketchy way. I used procreate on an ipad to draw over each photo. The color of the drawing was picked from each individual's clothing in the photograph. I wanted to create a photograph representing each person's insecurities and how it, in a way, distorts their face to them. The drawing over top outlines and circles these areas and causes the viewer to directly look where the person would rather you look away. 2020.
