"Iconic"

This photographic series shows individuals recreating an iconic 80s female photo. One as themself and another as the celebrity, although both in the same pose. The females that are recreated are Molly Ringwald, Joan Jett, Madonna, and Debbie Harry. These people were chosen because their ideas are still being fought for and pursued today. Ideas such as believing in yourself, dressing the way you want to, and women’s basic rights. These photos mainly focus on the influence in fashion and makeup that these individuals have with people today. I wanted to show that girls today still look at these people as influences in their fashion. I wanted simple backgrounds so that the main focus was on the person. I edited each photo to resemble the original photos to the best of my ability. 2020
